Lobster and Steamers and Clambakes – Oh My!
A friend just asked me where to find great lobster rolls, and I replied:
“Mmmm the best lobster rolls around in my opinion are in Rowayton at Brendan’s 101 …It’s actually a fun ‘outing’ with the kids on a summer day – super casual, they serve ice cream, etc. I’m sure you’ve been there but in case you didn’t know they had lobster rolls, they are AMAZINGLY delish!!”
((Shameless plug: while strolling away from Brendan’s and back into town, enjoying your ice cream, feel free to pause and peruse Darien and Rowayton homes for sale on the big front window of Kelly Associates’ new Rowayton office — and maybe even peek your head in to see if my mom or dad, Alison or Dick Meloy, are in there … they’re longtime Darien residents and great realtors if you or a friend ever needs one!
))
Speaking of lobster, consider upping your summer BBQ’s a notch with Captain John’s Traveling Clambakes! They’re awesome: for like $20 per ‘pot’ they pack it with corn, potatoes, clams, steamers and lobster — all you do is add heat, and everything in the pot steams and cooks and is ready to serve in like 15 minutes. SO much fun! Of course they also offer catered clam bakes, etc.
So those are my two go-to’s for yummy lobster and clambakes in the summer … what are yours?
Oh – my friends at CTBites.com did a write-up of other great area clambake caterers, etc, a few summers ago — check it out here.
