For Odd Jobbers, Check The DHS Jobs Office
The colorful autmn leaves beginning to blanket my yard reminded me to remind you of a very “in-the-know” resource we locals have access to, which is the Darien High School Jobs Office. The way it works is that DHS students go in and register their availability for a variety of jobs — from babysitting to leaf-raking, dog walking, garage-cleaning/ heavy lifting, and more.
You can then call in to the jobs office and register your request (open M-W-F from 11am-1pm, 655-3113, email). The parents volunteering in the office will match your request with a registered student — and if there isn’t one, your request will go on a list that students can review when signing up for jobs. How great is that? In fact, I think I might go ahead and get on a list for snow shoveling services well in advance of our first storm….!
